Biographical Statement

I completed my undergraduate and master's studies at Tokyo Woman's Christian University with Prof. Midori Osumi. I got an interest in fieldlinguistics and exploring endangered indigenous languages, especially Oceanic languages.

Before starting my PhD at The Australian National University, I completed Graduate Diploma and Postgraduate Diploma in Linguistics at The University of Melbourne where I obtained further knowledge about linguistics and started working on an Australian language, Wanyjirra. I then completed my Postgraduate Subthesis "A Sketch Grammar of Wanyjirra" with Prof. Nick Evans and Dr. Rachel Nordlinger using previously recorded Wanyjirra materials which Prof. Tsunoda (Tokyo University, Japan) collected.
