Publications

The SDSC welcomes manuscripts for publication into either its Canberra Paper (book length texts) or Working Paper (shorter texts) series.

Topics should have a defence, security or strategic related theme (e.g., combating transnational crime, counterterrorism efforts and techniques, defence policy, economic security, government or military intelligence, and recent scientific or technological developments).

Papers may be technical in nature, but should be of a high academic standard.

The SDSC Publications program is administered by an Editorial Board and an Advisory Review Panel.

Both series of papers are peer reviewed. In addition (for the benefit of Australian academics), certain Canberra Papers may qualify for DEST points. All papers since 2007 can be downloaded for free from the respective SDSC publication page or (in some cases) from the ANU E Press website; while all are also available for purchase.
