Book launches since 2008

Defence Policy-Making: A Close-up View, 1950-1980: A Personal Memoir by Sir Arthur Tange (edited by Dr Peter Edwards; and published by ANU E Press on 1 July 2008) was launched on 30 June 2008 by Dr Allan Hawke, currently Chancellor of The Australian National University and formerly a Secretary of Defence. The Master of Ceremonies for the launch was Emeritus Professor Paul Dibb, a former Deputy Secretary of Defence. Guests included members of the Tange family; the current Secretary of Defence, Nick Warner; the current Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Michael L'Estrange; and a number of key Public Service officials of current and former times.

History as Policy: Framing the debate on the future of Australia's defence policy (edited by Ron Huisken and Meredith Thatcher; and published by ANU E Press in December 2007) was launched on 20 February 2008 by Professor Kim Beazley, former Leader of the Australian Labor Party and Leader of the Opposition, and currently Professor of Political Science and International Relations at the University of Western Australia (UWA).
