Project summary This project aims to design and test a framework for the collection, analysis and synthesis of ecosystem-wide data for decision-making at the level of the local community and at different levels of planning and administration in Milne Bay Province. The conceptual framework will be that of the Millennium Ecosystem Assessment, but the project itself is an integral component of the Milne Bay Community-Based Coastal and Marine Conservation Program funded by the Global Environment Facility. The project will address decision-making information needs at the provincial level, but seek to build capacity to undertake integrated social and ecological assessments at local, provincial and national levels.
