Project summary
|
Deforestation and degradation account for 20 per cent of global climate emissions. For the most part, these emissions from deforestation and degradation come from a few tropical countries. This research project aims to provide deeper understanding into the causal factors behind deforestation and degradation in Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. Understanding the motivations behind forest resource use can be used to design efficient mechanisms to reduce emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in Indonesia and Papua New Guinea.
