Project documents Comparative Study
Project summary This research aims to measure and compare the effectiveness of the decentralization of coastal zone management in two districts (kabupaten) with different levels of economic development in Sulawesi. It also explores the ways in which management strategies at the district level respond to the interests of different stakeholders at that level and to policies made at higher levels of political organization. The research also considers the revitalization of traditional rights and norms as part of the decentralization process and its impact on coastal and fisheries management strategies.
