Research Seminar - Cyclone Nargis: one year on

Cyclone Nargis struck Myanmar (Burma) in May 2008 causing unprecedented disaster for the country. There has been decreasing general interest in the disaster and its aftermath, and the current recovery/reconstruction status of the area is not well known. The seminar is intended to share some preliminary observations and findings, especially on the foreseen challenges for the recovery of people’s livelihood, obtained through a short visit to one of the most severely hit areas in Ayeyarwaddy Delta in May 2009.
