All PhD students in the Department have an office (usually two students per room) and a MS Windows-based computer. Computers are networked to the library, various databases, mainframe computers, and the Internet. Our PhD students have access to the Reading Room of the Division of Politics and International Relations (a non-lending library) and photocopiers for reasonable photocopying. PhD students are also entitled to financial support for fieldwork and other reasonable research costs. Frequently the Department also gives financial support to PhD students who present papers at academic conferences and workshops.
