Beibei Tang

Beibei Tang, MPhil Oxford (UK), BA Wuhan University (China). Beibei is doing her PHD research on the urban middle classes in contemporary China. The research interests focus on the Chinese middle class status attainment and their community-level political participation. By conducting quantitative analysis on national survey data, and in-depth interviews in middle class communities in Shenyang, China, her research is expected to explore the mechanism of social stratification and mobility in a transitional economy.
