Guidelines for Visitors
Visiting the Department
Political and Social Change welcomes visitors who are doing their own research on topics relevant to the Department's work and/or collaborating with other members. Anyone interested in being considered for a visiting appointment should send a CV and application letter to the Head of Department. For details, please see Visitors page.
For work visitors do during the affiliation, the Department requests acknowledgement and recognition in resulting publications, etc. Visitors are kindly requested to inform the Department Administrator or Head of those results' details.
Visitors staying several months who require office space are expected to contribute A$750/semester to help offset costs for administration, office use, internet access, printing, photocopying, etc. Visitors who do not require office space and stay six months or longer are expected to contribute A$200/semester to help offset costs for administration and other services (such as access to printing, the internet, and photocopying) that a lengthy period typically involves. For short-term visitors who do not require office space and computer access, there will be no charge unless the visitor has heavy demands on consumables. All visitors requiring business cards with the ANU logo will need to pay for them. Visitors who get consultancies during their affiliation and use office space, computers, etc. are encouraged to contribute, where circumstances permit, ten percent of resulting income to the Department.
The Department Head can waive or reduce the above fees under such circumstances as the visitor helping to supervise students, producing refereed publications, and co-authoring books with academic staff members.
