The Role of Normative Pressure in Changing Regime Behaviour in Myanmar/Burma
Mr. Trevor Wilson

When debating whether or not “engagement” is an effective tool to employ with Burma, little analysis has been done of different types of engagement that have been tried. Examining some examples suggests a few successes have been achieved, but these are not accorded much recognition. Radical change has been rare, but failed policies tend to be given overwhelming publicity. Lack of fundamental political reform still blocks far-reaching change, but few innovative strategies to encourage political change have been tried.
