Australian Doctors' Conference Presentations

Australian doctors who have been providing specialised medical training and capacity building in Myanmar/Burma for some years gave presentations about their programs on Day 2 of the 2007 Update Conference. All of these programs are initiated by the private sector which remains the main source of funding for them, although some AusAID funding has also been provided to some of the programs.

The doctors and their programs are:

Associate Professor Bruce Conolly, Hand Surgery Unit, St Luke's Hospital Sydney; University of New South Wales and Sydney University

Associate Professor Alan Gale, Senior Cardiac Surgeon, The Prince Charles Hospital, Brisbane and University of Queensland

Dr Michael McGlynn, Interplast Australia and Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick

Dr James Muecke, South Australian Institute of Ophthalmology and Royal Adelaide Hospital
