Biographical Statement

Peter Drysdale, am head and shoulders
I am currently involved in a collaborative research project with Gordon de Brouwer and the Ministry of Finance in Japan on future financial arrangements in East Asia. Recent papers include presentations on the 'new regionalism' in East Asia. A book on The New Economy in Asia and the Pacific is being edited from the Pacific Trade and Development Conference (PAFTAD) held in August 2001.

Research Interests

Asia-Pacific economic integration; international economic diplomacy; international trade and economic policy; Japanese economy and economic policy; foreign direct investment; China's trade and transformation; East Asian economic policies. Currently involved in major collaborative research project on future financial arrangements in East Asia. Recent research on the 'new regionalism' in East Asia. New books forthcoming in 2002 include The New Economy in Asia and the Pacific.
