The Program:

  • provides a regular publication and seminar series;
  • conducts conferences, workshops and short courses in Australia and throughout the region;
  • encourages collaborative research with regional institutions;
  • supports practical measures for building good governance and the prevention of conflict into development assistance strategies;
  • offers an SSGM Associates scheme and visitors program for regional scholars and policy-makers, and maintains a database of regional specialists.

Strategic Plan

Six Fellows are contracted by the ANU to the Program. In addition to their research and publication, the Fellows undertake consultancies, lecture and supervise graduate students, and provide briefings to government agencies and NGOs throughout the region.
