Scholarships

Australian Scholarships Overview

Australian Scholarships is an Australian Government initiative to build partnerships and increase mutual understanding, knowledge and innovation in the Asia Pacific region. Australian Scholarships brings under the one umbrella existing scholarship programs managed by the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) and the Department of Education, Science and Training (DEST) and introduces a new AusAID managed awards program - Australian Leadership Awards.

Australian Leadership Awards (ALA)

Australian Leadership Awards (ALA) is an initiative for the Asia Pacific region that focuses on developing leaders who can influence social and economic policy reform and development outcomes. ALA provides scholarships for post-graduate studies in Australia and for short-term fellowship opportunities in specialised research study or for professional attachments through participating Australian organisations.

Australian Development Scholarship

Australian Development Scholarships (ADS) aims to contribute to long-term development needs of Australia's partner countries to promote good governance, economic growth and human development. ADS provides people with the necessary skills and knowledge to drive change and influence the development outcomes of their own country, through obtaining tertiary qualifications at participating Australian institutions.

Endeavour Program

Endeavour Awards Program is managed by DEST. It provides opportunities within the Asia-Pacific region for developing mutual understanding through study, research, professional development and international education experiences. Asian Development Bank-Japan Scholarship Program

The Asian Development Bank (ADB)-Japan Scholarship Program (JSP) aims to provide an opportunity for well-qualified citizens of ADB's developing member countries to pursue postgraduate studies in economics, management, science and technology, and other development-related fields at participating academic institutions in the Asian and Pacific Region. Upon completion of their study programs, scholars are expected to contribute to the economic and social development of their home countries. The ADB-JSP provides full scholarships for one to three years.
