Chief Investigator
I Wayan Arka is the sole (and therefore Chief) investigator of this project. He is essentially doing all of the research activities: planning, coordinating or directing all documentary activities (fieldwork, transcribing and annotating, data analysis and writing up grammar and dictionary). This picture shows a traditional welcome ritual for Wayan. After this, Wayan was accepted as a member of the family and he has been well taken care of by the host family since then.

Fransiskus Seda (Sis): He is a graduate of Nusa Cendana University but is now working at the local Kelurahan (Village) office. He is the person on the left, shown here (with a village head). |

Jermy Balukh: He is a graduate of Udayana University, now teaching at a university in Kupang, helping Wayan check transcriptions on a causal basis |

Mr. Yohanes Nani (Yanani). He is a local Rongga teacher. He helps Wayan with teaching material development and lexicographic work. He is seen here learning to use a laptop computer, a skill he acquired recenlty taught by Wayan. | |
