- Core arguments and pronominal marking in Indonesian Languages.
- Documenting Rongga, a marginalized small language of south-central Flores,
(a three-year project funded by the ELDP SOAS London, January 2004-December 2006).
- Austronesian Voice Systems: An Eastern Indonesian Perspective, a three-year project (mid-2006-2009), funded by the NSF, in collaboration with M. Shibatani
Rice University (US) and Fay Wouk Auckland University (NZ).
- Indonesian Parallel Grammar Project ,
(funded by a near-miss grant from Sydney University (2007) and an ARC Discovery grant (2008-2011),
in collaboration with Jane Simpson (Sydney U), Avery Andrew (ANU), and Mary Dalrymple (Oxford University).
- Understanding Indonesian: developing a machine-usable grammar, dictionary and corpus, as Co- Chief Investigator, British Academy (small) grant, with Prof. Mary Dalrymple, Oxford University
- Coding resources, functionality, and the development of ‘isolating’ languages: Austronesian vs. Papuan, a proposed project for my current fellowship at
the ANU, to start in 2007.
