Aung Si (Linguistics RSPAS)

I will be presenting some preliminary data from my first field trip to the B. R. Hills, where I worked on the language and traditional ecological knowledge of the Solega.Several topics will be covered, including the relationship between the Solega and their forest landscape, Solega perceptions of recent environmental perturbations, the sustainable use of forest products, indigenous knowledge of the biology of forest animals (I will be focusing on honeybees and elephants), and aspects of Solega ethnoclassification.
