May 18 2009 Seminar Room C Syllables, morae and vowels in KanumKanum, a language of southern New Guinea, shows interesting
interactions between vowel length, epenthesis, and sonorant
syllabification. Without reaching a grand conclusion, this talk
explores some of the issues involved in describing the syllable, and
syllable structure, in Kanum.
