Syllables, morae and vowels in Kanum

Kanum, a language of southern New Guinea, shows interesting interactions between vowel length, epenthesis, and sonorant syllabification. Without reaching a grand conclusion, this talk explores some of the issues involved in describing the syllable, and syllable structure, in Kanum.
