Rio Budi Rahmanto, BA (University of Indonesia), MA (ANU)

Rio Budi Rahmanto commenced his doctoral study in early 2009 under the Australian Development Scholarship (ADS). He concluded his MA in International Relations from the Australian National University (ANU) in 2003 under the same scholarship. He received his Bachelor Degree in Social and Political Science from the University of Indonesia in 1999.

He is also currently employed at the Department of Foreign Affairs in Indonesia. In his previous assignments, he worked in the area of social development, rural development and poverty eradication within the ASEAN cooperation as well as economic and development cooperation in the context of Indonesia-Germany bilateral relations.

His main interests are, among others, international political economy, developing countries, economic development issues, and international relations in the Asia-Pacific region. He will be focusing on the role of developing countries' coalitions within the WTO for his doctoral research.
