The Department of Human Geography at The Australian National University is part of a leading centre for research and postgraduate training in the Asia Pacific region.

Located in the Research School of Pacific and Asian Studies, ANU College of Asia and the Pacific, it offers:

  • A PhD degree by research
  • Sabbatical fellowships for Australian and New Zealand geographers
  • Visiting fellowships for students and faculty.

The department runs a regular seminar series and fosters a strong research culture. It hosts two major research clusters, the Land Management Group and the Community Economies Project
