Finding a Grant

Most grant schemes have a lenghty lead-in time - 6 and 12 months between the date the application is due and the date that the funding is announced. It is possible to get funding
in a shorter time than this from some agencies or granting foundations but as a rule you need to make an early start looking for suitable grants.

Using the web is often the best way to identify suitable grant schemes.
Try these:

  1. Check this site for Forthcoming Grants deadlines.
  2. Search the grant-finding database SPIN.(Available to ANU users)
  3. Check the web pages of organisations that you know of who fund research in your field.
  4. Phone: +61 2 6125 3118 Room 7021, Coombs Bld, ANU.
    Email: judith.pabian@anu.edu.au

Preparing an application may take anywhere from a few hours to a couple of months, depending on the granting agency’s requirements. For further details, check our page on preparing applications.
