Qualifications

Fellows in 2006 will be graduate students at US universities who have completed all phases of their study except the dissertation, are highly recommended, have well-developed dissertation projects, and make a strong case for why a fellowship will benefit their dissertation work. For fellows needing advice on their dissertations, some consideration will be given to having an appropriate advisor while at the ANU.

The research should hold high promise of contributing sound scholarship to Southeast Asian studies and helping the recipients sustain and develop their research interests and skills in this field of study in the United States.

Applicants should include a writing sample.

Fellowships are open to all disciplinary fields, all countries of the region, and a wide range of research topics.
