RSPAS Annual EventsLecture SeriesHeinz W. Arndt Lecture SeriesThe lecture series honours Professor Heinz Arndt's long and distinguished career in development economics, Australian-Indonesian relations as well as his contributions to the University. George Ernest Morrison Lectures in EthnologyThe George Ernest Morrison Lecture series was founded by Chinese residents in Australia and others in honour of the late Dr G. E. Morrison, a native of Geelong, Victoria, Australia. The objects of the foundation of the Lectureship were to commemorate for all time the memory of a great Australian who rendered valuable services to China, and to improve cultural relations between China and Australia. Each year, a senior Sinologist delivers a major paper as part of the series. Narayanan LecturesThe Narayanan Lectures honour India's immediate past-President Dr K R Narayanan. Each year this oration has been delivered by a major public figure. The Sadli Lecture Series in Economic PolicyFrom 2007, the Indonesia Project (RSPAS) is planning an annual lecture series entitled "The Sadli Lecture Series in Economic Policy" in cooperation with the Institute of Economic and Social Research (LPEM), University of Indonesia. The aim of the lecture series is to broaden understanding and stimulate debate among students, academics and policy makers of the key economic policy challenges faced by Indonesia, drawing on the experience of neighbouring countries. It is named in honour of probably Indonesia's most influential commentator on economic affairs over the past 40 years, Professor Mohammad Sadli. ConferencesIndonesia UpdateThe Indonesia Updates are designed to provide comprehensive overviews of developments in Indonesia, and to present wide ranging discussion on a theme of particular interest each year. Vietnam UpdateThe Vietnam Update is a series of annual conferences that focus on recent economic, political and social conditions in Vietnam and provide in-depth analysis into a select theme of particular relevance to Vietnam's socio-economic development. Summer School![]() Asia Pacific WeekThe Asia Pacific Week summer school features a program of public events, intensive courses and workshops that bring together more than scholars from Australia, the region, Europe and North America. |
