About BIESWhat's new?
For contributors
The Bulletin of Indonesian Economic Studies (BIES) is a refereed journal published by the Taylor & Francis Group under its Routledge imprint, now located on the new Taylor & Francis informaworld online platform at www.informaworld.com/smpp/title~content=1472-7234. Housed in the Indonesia Project at The Australian National University, BIES was founded by the late Professor H.W. Arndt, and has been in continuous publication since 1965. BIES appears three times a year, in April, August and December, in both electronic and print form. In addition to the usual papers reporting economic analysis and research, each issue leads with a comprehensive 'Survey of Recent Developments', which aims to be accessible to non-economists, and helps to account for the journal's diverse readership within academia, government, business and the public as a whole. The journal also includes book reviews on Indonesian economics and related issues. The journal fills a significant void by providing a well respected outlet for high quality research by both Indonesians and foreigners on matters pertaining to the Indonesian economy - from poverty to public administration, from small business to state enterprise, from peasant farming and fisheries to financial crises - and touching on closely related fields such as law, the environment, government and politics, demography, education and health. In doing so, it has played an important role in helping the world, and Indonesians themselves, to understand Indonesia. BIES has been recognised world wide as one of the top ranking economics journals in terms of citations. The Centre for Strategic and International Studies in Jakarta (www.csis.or.id) publishes BIES for distribution in Indonesia. |
