SOUTH ASIAN STUDIES SUMMER SCHOOL
JANUARY 31 - FEBRUARY 4 2005
The ANU South Asia Studies Summer School (SASSS) is a week-long program of intensive research activities designed to bring together scholars working on South Asia throughout Australia and New Zealand to exchange knowledge and experience at one of the leading centres of learning on South Asia.
The broad goals for the week are to provide a forum for students to discuss their research with substantial intellectual inputs from experienced researchers, to expose students to the work being done at the frontiers of South Asian studies by ANU faculty and invited guest faculty and to provide opportunities for networking through the exchange of knowledge and experiences surrounding the study of South Asia. The program will also expose the students to the immense resources on South Asia harboured in libraries in Canberra – at the ANU and the National Library. In addition, students will have the opportunity to participate in a range of social and cultural activities to be held as part of the Asia-Pacific Week.
Hosts for the program will comprise experienced researchers and scholars drawn from among the ANU's staff as well as some guest faculty.
