Hosted by the Research School of Pacific and Asian Studies in the Coombs Building, Pacific scholars and students will be engaged in a program of activities including presentations, workshops and seminars. This group will explore the historic background to contemporary issues confronting the region. The program will provide the foundation for future plans to develop an Annual Pacific Studies Summer School. This would rotate thematically between disciplines (Anthropology, Archaeology and Natural History, History, Asia Pacific Week, Economics, Political and Social Change etc). This will also feed into plans for an Annual Public Seminar on Political Futures in the Pacific.
