Biographical Statement

Donald Denoon head and shoulders
Educated in South Africa and Cambridge, I worked in Makerere University, Uganda, and Ibadan University, Nigeria, before being rescued by the University of Papua New Guinea. My research is shaped by issues arising in the Pacific Islands and Australia.

Research Interests

Settler societies and their relations with indigenous peoples; Papua New Guinea's independence; Pacific Island medical history; Pacific Island mining history; the creation and destruction of regional identities.
